Purpose of Link Building and Search Engine Optimization Strategies
Building a site is a lot of hard work. Writing all the content, when you don’t have the money to outsource is probably the hardest part of starting a website. If you are using the bum marketing method, then you also have to rewrite all that content at least 3 or 4 times to submit to article directories, blogs, social media sites, or wherever you are setting up your back links. After all if you do not have it at least 50% different you will get hit with the duplicate content penalties and then all that work wasted. Or is it? Yes It will hurt your search engine optimization strategies, but the links are still there.
I have seen so many people focus on search engine ranking; they forget the purpose of SEO in the first place. Get Traffic to your site. If you write unique content for each of those other sites, that is relevant to your web page but not identical, this will help you get more traffic. Also, use the social media sites for the full advantage. Yes they are great for back links, but you can get more traffic if you boost your social media sites internal rankings.
Look at Squidoo for instance. You can go to other lenses vote on them, and get links to your lense. Then you can get your lense ranking and get more traffic to your site through your lense. IF you have a network of sites, you can even get them ranking in the search engines by raising their popularity within the social site. That will send even more traffic to your site.
The more traffic you get to your site the more likely you will be to get a sale. Also unless you are on Wordpress.com or a similar site that does not allow any type of commercial traffic, put a few direct merchant links to on your social sites. You will actually increase your ranking with social sites by having relelvant links to different sites.
Remember it is all about giving quality, giving service, and getting sales. Do those sales have to go through your main site? No. You don’t link every email sign up to your site do you? Most people don’t. they just send a link to the merchant.
Email boxes are another great addition. Running a blogger blog for your own linking? It’s a great place to get some back links. If you network it just a little, you can get good rankings in Google fast, since they own blogger. I personally use a blogger blog for all my sites. Even the ones I have an internal blog like this one, I set up a blogger blog for back linking, and I have an email sign up box at the top of the menu panel. Just add a custom html widget and paste your sidebar email box html code. This will drive more traffic to your site, which is the purpose of all these search engine optimization strategies.
Sometimes people will not even leave my blog, but will sign up for the list. I keep my blog list separate. My main reason for this is I send them different promotions as well as I send a message whenever I post something new on the blog. With my blogger blogs, I do not run them often and heavy, about 1 post every 2-3 weeks, just to keep it fresh and try to get some ranking.
If you only use social media sites and back linking for search engine optimization strategies, remember the point of good SEO is to get relevant traffic. And, you will not get more relevant traffic than someone already reading about the topic of your web page.
