I have been answering a lot of emails and questions on forums about beginning a new website promotion strategy. One of the biggest problems that I am seeing is people getting overwhelmed with trying to get the numbers of traffic that it takes to be successful.

Don’t freak out

Part of the problem is people seeing that they need hundreds or thousands of back links to get high search engine rankings. Or, they think about the hours of work that it will take to set up a proper social networking campaign. The thing about it is, you may need all that, but you  don’t have to do it all at once.  What you need is a consistent plan of action to take every day.You can develop your own plan, or follow the advice of a proven expert in the field.

As I am writing my new ebook on True Article Marketing Exposed (which will soon replace my Traffic Formula), I really started thinking about all the ways people overwhelm themselves. That’s right. The first thing you have to accept to get past being overwhelmed is accept this simple fact:

YOU ARE DOING IT TO YOURSELF!

Step back, take a deep breath and control yourself. The best way to overcome this is by planning your strategy. One thing that I tell people is that consistency is more important than quantity. Develop your new website promotion plan to fit your schedule.

Now, I am going to shoot myself in the foot once again by giving you a plan that you can use,(and I am not even going to charge you for it, not even an email adress). Adapt it to fit your schedule, and how much time you have to spend promoting your new website.

First, look at where you want your links. Personally I go for a diverse structure including a few article directories, Web2.0 sites, blog commenting and guest posting, social bookmarking, and other sites.

Rather than looking at days of building backlinks, set a daily goal for the number of backlinks that you can comfortably build. This can be a few or a lot. I have one friend that does 20/ week. He works 2 jobs, while building up his sites, so he doesn;t  have a lot of time to spend on promotion. His sites are starting to take off, and he has even said if it stays consistent ( which it will if he does), he will quit one of his jobs, if not both of them later this month.

Your New Website Promotion Plan:

Start out by writing one article. Now, you can spin this article. Submit it to 5 article directories, and 5 web2.o sites. That sounds much simpler than submitting it to hundreds of sites doesn’t it?

Now, while you are on the social sites, go through and post 5 comments on related pages within the community. Stop by the forum, and leave one or two comments there. You don’t have to spend a lot of time on this, but by being involved in the community, you will increase your standing there, and you will get traffic to your pages on their site.

Next, i would go through a list of RSS feed submission sites. Submit your feed to say 5 sites/ day, which should take about 15 minutes.You can even outsource it here if you really want to. ( not an affiliate link, but I do highly recommend his service)

Make 5 blog comments on ComentLuv enabled blogs. This will help you get your site found quickly.

Thats it. now, you could do more, or less, depending on how much time you have. You can also outsource the article writing and submissions to more sites. This will increase your exposure, and give you a better chance at ranking well for your keyword.

Remember it is not about quantity it is about consistency. If you have more time on your hands, do more, if you cant do all this in a day, then do part of it one day and the rest the next day. Develop your own plan and stick to it.

Don’t overwhelm yourself with your new website promotion.

Finding extra income opportunities online is not that difficult. The problem is that there are so many out there, and many of them are outright scams. Many of the make money programs online have been slapped together by people who have never made a dime on anything other than teaching others how to make money.

With all that, it is no wonder real online business owners have trouble. People just don’t know who to trust anymore.

For those of you who have been  coming by to see me for a while, you will know that I don’t jump on every product launch, and in fact often mock many of the big name Gurus online, because of the crap they teach and sell.

I have been a student of Mark’s for over a year now, and although I don’t follow all his training and techniques, I still follow about 80% of it myself. Today, I am going to show you the simple steps that you will need to take.

How to set up Affiliate Marketing  Money Magnets

Getting your affiliate marketing money magnets set up will take a little bit of work. There are several things which you need to have in order for your money magnets to work. When it comes down to having a money magnet that runs on autopilot, there are 6 things that you need.

Get an Autoresponder

To begin with, you need an autoresponder. This way, you can build up a list of potential customers that you can promote different products to over time. Building a list has widely been used to generate a passive income onlne. However, most people fail to use this properly to generate the income that you need.

Find a niche market

The next thing that you need to really take advantage of the money out there is a niche which has been proven to be profitable. There are hundreds of niche markets out there. However, some just don’t grab people, and have them willing to draw out their wallet. There are several niches, however, that are proven to bring in loads of cash for people every day.

Create Targeted Content

Once you start building this list up, you need to monetize your traffic. Personally, I recommend only promoting products that you have seen and would use yourself. Now, if you have used a product, you can use your personal experience to promote it. However, you should at least check out the product, and see if you would use it. Too many people promote products just based on the popularity of the product, without looking into the product to see if it really fits in with what they say. Instead, stick with products that you use yourself, and show how this product has helped you. Your marketing will be more genuine, and will help build your reputation even faster.

All of this will take you quite a while to set up. However, once you do, you can get a great income set up that will keep you going for years. This week has been really tough for me. Between an influx of new clients, launching my AffiloJetpack Review ( and setting up my promotion for that), having an abscessed tooth, and trying to fulfill other secret agreements that have been made (to benefit me both financially, and with building a better relationship with some really great people that I know), time management has been crucial to keeping me out of the loony bin.

So, how did I manage to keep from drowning?  Well, I dove into several things, and I want to share them with you so that you can manage your time better.

Take Care of YOU First

First of all, I took care of the medical problem. One thing that frustrates me is seeing people who are hurt, or having a problem, and ignoring it because their business comes first.

My grandpa taught me ” If you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be able to take care of anyone else. It is not being selfish. Rather, it is a matter of keeping yourself fit mentally emotionally and physically so that you will be available to help others when they need it.”

The reason I love this business is the ability to spend more time taking care of myself, rather than working myself into the ground for nothing ( like I did working for someone else.)

Organize Yourself

Personally, I keep a white board where I lay out my plan for the week. I write out what  I need to accomplish, arrange the priorities of importance, and write out how much time I will spend on each one.  As I complete a task, I erase it off the board, allowing me to see what all I have left to do.

I use the white board because it is flexible. For example, over this week, I have gotten several new clients on the board. Going through my whiteboard, I am able to see where I can fit time to research and work on their projects, without others suffering too much.

Don’t be a Loner

You don’t have to do everything alone. You can outsource some things, or hire a helper. Don’t be stingy. By reinvesting into your business, you will stand a better chance at making things last for a long term business.

For example, once I set up a few videos, and my AffiloJetpack review, I turned to my friend who is a master link builder. He is great at getting high quality traffic quickly, so I sent him a few articles to syndicate for me.  This frees me up to spend my time working on my clients, and the link building still gets done.

I also have a friend of mine who helps me from time to time, and I have him running my social bookmarks. He can log into my bookmarking poster, bookmark my new offer, and run some of the bookmarks for my clients. this frees my time up for what I need to do the most. Writing for my clients.

That reminds me, I need to wrap this up, so that I can go read some more e-books, and slide out a few more product reviews for a client today.
