A lot of online business people will tell you to ignore all the freebie seekers. Don’t try to pull them in, cause it is a waste of time. There is a major flaw in this way of thinking. If you ignore all the freebie seekers, you are cutting yourself off of a lot of potential customers.
When I started out trying to start my own business, I had no money to spend. I don’t mean a little. I stressed over the $ 10 a month for webhosting. My outgo was already higher than my income. That’s why I looked into an online business to start with.  It did not mean I saw no value in the products I was being offered, and if I had the money I would have bought a lot of them.
Even now, if I can find good information for free, I’m gonna take it and use it before spending my hard earned money. I will still buy something that is worth the investment, as anyone serious about their business should, but I learned to be frugal with what I had.
These are people you want to help. Get them to the point that they have some money to spend, and they will be likely to spend it with you next time. The people that slammed the door in my face because I didn’t have money probably won’t ever see me again. It’s their loss. There are plenty of opportunities to get good free information out there.

Now I know a lot of people will say that this is not the norm for most freebie seekers. And you may be right. There are many people who will only take what you give them for free. These people will probably only hang around for a little while, and then they will go a way. If they only ever look for free information, they will probably give up and quit anyway. 1) Do not use doorway pages

Doorway pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. They normally have a very beautiful image with words like “welcome” or “click here to enter”. In fact, they are just that — pretty vases with no real purpose. Do not let your visitors have a reason to click on the “back” button! Give them the value of your site up front without the splash page. I recommend using the front page to welcome your visitors, and tell them what all they will find within your site.

One way I do this is to focus my articles on problems that people are interested in solving. I use the front page to adress they problems, and why they are important. This also gives you the opportunity to build up the site in a way that will entice your visitors to read your articles. You can use it to build up links into your article pages within your main text.

2) Do not use excessive banner advertisements

Even the least net savvy people have trained themselves to ignore banner advertisements so you will be wasting valuable website real estate. Instead, provide more valuable content and weave relevant affiliate links into your content, and let your visitors feel that they want to buy instead of being pushed to buy.

I recommend only using one or two images per article page. Also, a plain image rather than a flashy banner convert better. Use simple text links, but try to limit the affiliate links on your site as well.

3) Have a simple and clear navigation

You have to provide a simple and very straightforward navigation menu so that even a young child will know how to use it. Stay away from complicated Flash based menus or multi-tiered drop down menus. If your visitors don’t know how to navigate, they will leave your site.
