How You can quickly Destroy your Online Reputation

I have recently been hanging out a lot on the Warrior Forum. It’s a great place to meet people within the IM world, and I have learned a lot from being there.
That being said, I am getting tired of all the crap you find there. There are so many people giving opinions about topics that they know nothing about. It is obvious by how they defend their opinions. Instead of providing any value or facts to support themselves, they simply reiterate that anyone who disagrees is stupid.
Have you been doing this in your business? This is one way a lot of people destroy their reputation online. Social sites are a great way to make connections. You can meet people, share your opinions, and make a lot of friends and contacts that will help boost your business.
If you are going to share an opinion, or even have one, you need to back it up with facts. I have seen this most in the IM niche, but I have also seen it on other forums as well. People come in and tell people how to fix a problem. All they are doing is parroting what others have said without the experience to back this up.
They do this to try to establish authority. I understand that. However, if you cannot prove that your advice works, keep your mouth (figuratively speaking) shut.
For example, look at all the threads about article spinning. The people who have succeeded are showing examples of how it has worked. The ones who failed just start calling people liars and scammers with no way to backup their opinions.
The fact is, on that topic, I have used article spinners. Most of the automatic ones suck. They create crap content that nobody would read. However, if you use a good, human controlled article spinner, you can get great articles that read well.
After you do this a few times, people will start to ignore your posts, and will not trust you when you have a valuable opinion. Just take a little time and make sure you know what you are talking about.
