How I became an Affiliate Marketer

I stumbled into internet marketing about March of 2008. At this point, I hated my job. I was researching ways to make money. I was searching online classifieds for a part time job when I came across the ads to a program about making money online. I was desperate so I checked it out.  Luckily, my skeptic nature kicked in and I researched the program. I did not buy that program but I now had an idea for other opportunities to look for.

As I searched different programs, and got scammed by a few, I learned some basics of affiliate marketing. I was skeptical about it but still not sure, when I came across this product review site. At the time, I did not know that most of the research and reviews I had read were affiliate marketing sites.

I found this review for a site called Affilorama. I saw that it was free to join so I checked them out. At this point, I had already bought a domain. The blog I was using was unsuccessful, due to a lack of support from the e book I had bought on how to blog. Within just a few days of my membership to Affilorama, I had my blog making some traffic. I got enough sales off the blog to pay for the Affiloblueprint program. Silly me,  I took the blog I had started down so I could use the domain to build my site. I know I should have kept what was working, but I cannot change the past. I will not make that mistake again.

When I bought the Affiloblueprint I went back to planning my goals. My first goal was to get this site complete and making money within 6 months, then build more sites and start outsourcing my business to build it faster. At the time, I was working 50 hours a week and did not expect to have a lot of time to put into building the site and learning everything at the same time.

I got my first site up within 2 days. It only had about 5 pages on it, but it was up, monetized and SEO Optimized. At this point I realized about how much time it would take and was already looking ahead. Thinking of Mark Lings Blackboard video I was thinking about all the sites I would need to achieve my goal. My thaught was

1, I need 5 sites making $50/week to meet the plan.

2 a new site takes 3-4 months to get the search engines trust

3 I just launched site # 1 in less than1/3 of the time planned.

So I decided to make the plunge into diversity.

I bought three more domain names.  Now I owned 4 of the 5 I needed. Then another setback or else a golden opportunity hit from my job

Being an entry-level manager, they move you around a lot. I got transferred to another store. Great, I needed a change. Except the store does half the sales and cannot give me the hours I need to pay all my bills. I got my hours cut from 50 hours/week to 35 hours/week literally overnight. That was almost half my paycheck.

I will continue this and how I came to be where I am now later. Until then have a blessed day
