Create a Good Customer Experience: If They Want Drugs, Sell Them Drugs
Creating a good customer experience is all about getting to know your customer and getting your site in front of them. I get asked every day how to get people to see your site. Remember, every visitor who sees your site is a potential customer and should be treated as such.
Making your website interesting is critical. You will not get any customers if you ignore what they want. You can give them what they need all day, but if you don’t give them what they want, they will leave and not come back.
One example I got from Sean of 6 Day Weekend. I met Sean on the Affilorama Forum. We had a thread going about connecting with your customers and his response has stuck with me. Now don’t take this the wrong way. What the example says is wrong. but it provides a good example of giving people what they want.
If you where promoting a site to drug users, what would you sell them? If you tried to promote help programs and rehab facilities, they would leave your site in a heartbeat. However, If you offered them a supply of their favorite drug, they would be all over you and probably send their friends to see your site.
If you marketed it well, you could get a huge market of people. How many drug users do you think know how to use search? Or a social site? A LOT. If you took time to market to those people and offer them what they want, you would be a huge success.
Again, this is an example of giving people what they want, I don’t advocate drug use, or selling drugs. If you want to provide a good customer experience, you have to give people what they want. How do you know what people in your niche want? You have to get to know your customers. This is why niche research is so critical.
Knowing SEO and link building is also important. If you don’t do proper SEO the search engines will not rank your site. This is critical to you being found and getting known within your niche. After all most of the traffic on the web uses search engines to find sites
Using social media sites well will bring you traffic even before you rank in the searches. If you don’t let your site be found, then you deserve to miss the boat. Take full advantage of the opportunity to get to know more people and network yourself with people interested in your niche.
Understanding all the mediums we use to build a good customer experience will increase your chances of getting found quickly. The more people who see your site, the more likely you will be to keep repeat customers over the long term.
Are you giving your visitors what they want or what they need? What are you doing to create a good customer experience? Let me know. I am always looking for great ideas.
