Choose the Right Internet Marketing Training Program

Choose the Right Internet Marketing Training Program

by James Pruitt on 05/28/2010

Are you just starting out and looking to find an internet marketing training program for your internet business? There are a lot of people looking to start making money online. Sadly only a small percentage of people ever actually do. Out of those, only a few actually make the kind of money that they want to.

A lot of people get caught up in buying that new shiny thing out there. And who doesn’t want to get rich overnite? The problem is most of these are scams just trying to milk you for every penny they can. You need to learn a few of the tricks to be aware of so that you can find a good program to run your business. I try to point out real online business opportunities to people when I can.

The sad thing is, there are a lot of great opportunities out there. Even with all the hype on new products,  very few live up to what they claim.  Here are a few things you should look for when trying to choose a program to start a n online business.

Frequently used Scam Tactics:

Limited time offers

Scarcity is used heavily online. Even the good products will use it. However there are some that take it to the extreme. If they claim that you can only get this for 48 hours, or whatever, then leave and come back next week and get the same claim, good chances are you should avoid that product. Now some people will use a limited time offer for good products. However I find that they may stop for a while then reopen it to people later. I just sign up for their email list, so that I can know when they are reopening their product. Of course with all the good email lists I have, I usually get a promotion from them anyway.

Get rich quick
Get rich this week. No one who I have seen successful will ever claim that you will get rich this week.  It takes time and work to build a business. Now if you do it right, you can make a lot of money quickly online. However, it will take a lot of work and a little time to get it going.

I have seen some people making a consistent income in as little as 3 months. but they spent a lot of time and energy to get it there that fast. And honestly, they were not making a lot of money in that time. The great thing about online business is that once you get it going, it is largely a passive income. You can make money off the same site consistently once it is well established with very little work.

Never Work Again

This brings us to the next point. Anyone who tells you that you do not have to work, or that you only have to work a couple of hours a day or week in this business is a scam. There are so many programs out there teaching that you do not have to work to make money.

However, the people I see who spend very little time on their site also spend a lot of time off their site working . They are planning, developing, researching, and managing their business. It can still be a full time job, even though you can do it whenever you want. The great thing is it is fun so it does not feel as much like work. This is a business, and all businesses take work to be successful.

What it all boils down to is that if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. Use a little common sense, and don’t fall for the dirty tricks that others use to promote their training systems.

I could write on this for hours, but three principles have served me best.

1. How they sell you is how they are going to expect you to sell to others.
2. Highly charged sales appeal to the ego and is summed up in the 7 deadly sins: greed, envy, laziness, gluttony, pride, lust and vengeance. Be aware of these areas of ego in yourself and how others are trying to elicit a response with them.
3. Running a business takes time, effort and focus. Learn the principles behind the marketing to understand how to apply them to your own business.

One program I just got and am learning about is the Product Launch Formula by Jeff Walker.

It is more a study in his systems, presentation and how he makes it work. But what a lot of these guru’s don’t tell you, is you need a solid business concept to get started and that is the hard part.

the good news is jumping in and learning by doing is the best way to get ahead, in my opinion.
