Blogging for cash and why it works
Writing a blog can be an enjoyable way to make money online. With a blog, you can create a steady flow of traffic if you do it well. You can then turn around and turn that traffic into profit by promoting AdSense or affiliate products. Writing a blog about a topic you are interested in will bring other like-minded people. If you are targeting traffic with big problems that they need corrected, they will be more likely to check out your links to find a solution to their problems.

There are many ways to start your own blog. If you do not have any money to spend, you can go to blogger and get a free blog account. One great thing about blogger is that they are owned by google. They index very quickly, sometimes in a matter of hours. You can set it up, put AdSense ads on it, and start writing about your topic of choice.
If you have the money for webhosting, I suggest getting your own domain name and a web hosting service. This will usually cost approximately $20-$30 depending on where you get your domain and web hosting service. Then you can load WordPress. It is a free open source blog platform. It also works well for building websites with a good theme designed for that use. It is what I use to build all my sites.
Marketing your blog for search engines
In order to get traffic flowing to your blog, you will need to use good SEO and market your blog to get traffic. A great way to get started is rewrite your blog post articles and submit them to article directories. This will get good links to your site, and start bringing you traffic.
Social media sites are also a great way to promote your blog. You should create a Squidoo lense, a Hub page, and a facebook account. Then you can link from each of these to your rss feed and get relevant traffic to view your blog. This will also give you great backlinks to your site for SEO ranking.
